David Byford FCCA, FCA, CTA

David qualified as a chartered accountant in 1978 with a London based national practice after achieving qualification as a chartered certified accountant with a leading local practice. Membership of the Institute of Taxation was obtained during 1977.

David specialises in all aspects of audit, accountancy and taxation issues of owner managed businesses ranging from start up's to those with turnovers in excess of £15 million. David is also particularly interested in providing practical business
support including profit enhancement.

Michele Byford FCA

Michele qualified as a chartered accountant in 1980 with a London based national practice, gaining valuable professional experience including audit and accountancy work and personal and corporation taxation.

Michele now specialises in all aspects of self assessment tax and accounting issues for the self employed.

Chris Waller FCA

Chris qualified in 1963 with a London based practice and spent his post qualification years with a series of London practices, gaining valuable professional experience with a multitude of clients ranging from public company audits to medium corporate and non-corporate clients.

Chris now specialises in new business start ups either from new business or acquired businesses. He also deals with inheritance tax planning.

Manager

Trevor McCarthy ACCA, MAAT

Trevor qualified as a chartered certified accountant in December 2004 having joined the practice in 1997 after obtaining 7 years valuable experience at two local practices.

Together with his role as practice manager, Trevor specialises in corporate businesses including the specialist sectors. Trevor also heads our IT division which offers advice and training on Sage and other products.

Our Key Personnel

Keith Ashton

Keith has gained valuable experience since joining the practice in 1997. He predominantly deals with the practices larger corporate clients , dealing with all aspects from audit to consolidated accounts production and taxation.

Keith also provides a continual support service for a number of our clients which includes the preparation of management accounts, cashflow forecasts and ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies including the Civil Aviation Authority and the Law Society.

Joy Bowden

Joy has been in the accountancy profession for over 35 years working at 3 other local firms before joining this practice in 1997.

Joy continues to specialise in the self employed and their personal taxation, small limited companies and subcontractor records.

Jacqui De Ferry

Jacqui has been involved in Payroll since 1980 and has been payroll manager with Waller & Byford since 1990. She currently manages in excess of 50 payrolls per month, and her duties as payroll manager also include collating information for the completion of P11Ds.

Jacqui is also involved in a number of administrative duties of Waller & Byford, including on-line filling of company annual returns.

Adam Hotson

Adam has been with Waller & Byford since 2004, with over five years accounting experience in local practice overall. He is currently at the final stage of studying for his ACCA qualification.

Adam's role within the practice is to prepare accounts and undertake audits for a varied client list from sole traders to limited companies including Plc's and charities.

Claire Nash MAAT

Claire has recently qualified as an accounting technician and is continuing her studies with the ACCA qualification. She has been working in the accounting profession since 2003.

Claire's responsibilities at Waller & Byford include completing VAT returns, drafting accounts, visiting clients to assist with bookkeeping and audit work.
